Chingford Park
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ian Gallagher took the kick off in the first half of the match. Guy Roebuck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Gallagher in the 6th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pat Messenger in the 8th minute of play forced Chingford City's goalkeeper Dom Downes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dylan Tandy blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dom Downes having to make a save. Guy Roebuck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ian Gallagher in the 15th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Chingford City's zone, Charlie Crabtree stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dom Downes came out of the goal and Charlie Crabtree tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 23rd match minute, EVERTON was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kevin Rundle to maneuver through the defense. Guy Roebuck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ian Gallagher in the 25th minute of the match. Gerry Greenfield fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guy Roebuck having to interfere. Graeme Laverick's late challenge caught a Chingford City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Graeme Laverick helped the player get up and apologised. Graeme Laverick kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Chingford City's Jimmy Farrow seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jimmy Farrow the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Chingford City protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jimmy Farrow had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 35 minutes into the game, one of Chingford City:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When Gerry Greenfield came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Chingford City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerry Greenfield couldn't finish the play. If Karl Beresford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Chingford City players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. EVERTON were winning 0-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dylan Tandy made a kick off. The supporters of EVERTON booed when Chingford City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Gallagher didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Graeme Laverick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Pat Messenger managed to get in a good position for a shot. EVERTON's supporters rose to their feet, but Pat Messenger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dom Downes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerry Greenfield in the 62nd minute of play forced EVERTON's goalkeeper Guy Roebuck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Chingford City's goal looked a bit too open when Dylan Tandy came free, but Dom Downes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dom Downes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dylan Tandy, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Graeme Laverick was shown his second yellow card after 70 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Graeme Laverick hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Pat Messenger's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Dom Downes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Gerry Greenfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to EVERTON getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Kristopher Lineker hit a great ball. In the 87th match minute, Chingford City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Billie Corbridge to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Chingford City's Dom Downes got control of the ball when Pat Messenger tried to sneak it across the goal line.
