After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Andy Hampton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thornham's supporters rose to their feet, but Andy Hampton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marty Corrigan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thornham's Malcolm Hudson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathanial Whitmore in the 27th minute of play. Olveston FC's Marty Corrigan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bart Helks in the 43rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Bart Helks's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marty Corrigan was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Malcolm Hudson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bradley Hewitt in the 55th minute of the match. After 57 minutes, Andre Amos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Olveston FC and the Thornham players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd minute Bradley Hewitt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Malcolm Hudson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bart Helks in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marty Corrigan saved Olveston FC from getting behind. Andy Hampton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marty Corrigan having to make a save. Thornham's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
