Spectators: 7285 (Terracing: 5660, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) Bart Helks started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Ronan Myers charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ronan Myers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 3rd match minute, FC Kolumna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronan Myers to maneuver through the defense. Tyler Draper was out of position in the 6 minute of play, and Bill Gerrard capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bill Gerrard really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Bart Helks struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Tyler Draper didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thornham. When Andy Hampton fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Thornham's protests and gave Andy Hampton a yellow card for diving instead. 12 minutes into the match, Thornham's goal looked a bit too open when Ronan Myers came free, but Malcolm Hudson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 14 played minutes, FC Kolumna's Daryl Everard shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Malcolm Hudson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Kolumna reached it. In the 15th minute Anthony Hicks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Malcolm Hudson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Kolumna's Daniel Hunter got a free kick in the 20th minute. Malcolm Hudson came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by FC Kolumna's Ronan Myers. But to his dismay, Ronan Myers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 24th minute Bart Helks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tyler Draper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Kolumna's Ed Buchanan got a free kick in the 28th minute. 33 minutes into the match, Bart Helks dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tyler Draper, 2-1. Bart Helks who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 40thth minute tested the skills of Tyler Draper when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Hunter was the one to do the kick off. Bill Gerrard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Thornham fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Thornham's Bill Gerrard looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Andy Hampton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Tyler Draper tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tyler Draper showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bart Helks, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Andy Hampton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thornham's supporters rose to their feet, but Andy Hampton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tyler Draper breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tyler Draper didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bart Helks went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Tyler Draper came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Thornham's Bart Helks. But to his dismay, Bart Helks quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bart Helks in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tyler Draper saved FC Kolumna from getting behind. 81 minutes into the match, Thornham's Bill Gerrard sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tyler Draper narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bart Helks in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tyler Draper prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Thornham's Bart Helks got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, FC Kolumna's goal looked a bit too open when Bart Helks came free, but Tyler Draper reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Thornham getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Wes Silvester hit a great ball. In the 95th minute of the match Sid Linford sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Malcolm Hudson skillfully saved the ball. When the referee ended the match the Thornham players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
