When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Timothy Mulford took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Rex Cullen to make any attempt to save it. Timothy Mulford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rex Cullen having to interfere. Brian Gallacher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kev Platt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Cotton having to interfere. With his leg Rex Cullen managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Harpenden's Russ Gordon fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Timothy Mulford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rex Cullen having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brian Gallacher to make the kick off. Timothy Mulford blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rex Cullen having to make a save. In the 64th minute, Kev Platt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 65th match minute, Harpenden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dylon Nicholson to maneuver through the defense. Brian Gallacher's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adam Cotton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. After 70 minutes, Rhys Stobbs mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Flushing FC and the Harpenden players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th minute, Rhys Stobbs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adam Cotton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian Gallacher in the 75th minute of play. In the 84th minute Russ Gordon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rex Cullen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dylan Slator might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rex Cullen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dylan Slator ran back to his position shaking his head. Flushing FC's Rex Cullen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Russ Gordon in the 88th minute of play. Rex Cullen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Russ Gordon's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Harpenden fans cheered their team off the field, for while Flushing FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
