Spectators: 7540 (Terracing: 5656, Seating: 1734, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nicholas Beesley kicked off to start the match. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Meldreth United's goalkeeper Duncan Aldridge, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 8 minutes, Joe Hampton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Meldreth United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joe Hampton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ethan Legzdins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duncan Aldridge having to interfere. Nicholas Beesley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joe Hampton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but James Preston read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Joe Hampton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without James Preston having to interfere. Joe Hampton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. James Preston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ivor Spann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Greg Worth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute Ivor Spann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but James Preston saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Pierce Carter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The The Meldreth United fans' excitement grew in the 34th match minute when The Meldreth United's Ivor Spann looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ivor Spann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mick Younger's late challenge caught a Potato Chasers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mick Younger helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, The Meldreth United's Mick Younger got a free kick in the 44th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ivor Spann made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Ivor Spann recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of James Preston. Ivor Spann showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Duncan Aldridge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ethan Legzdins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Meldreth United's Mick Younger got his second yellow card of the match in the 65th minute. The referee ordered Mick Younger off the ground. In the 66th minute, Mick Younger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joe Hampton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without James Preston having to interfere. Ethan Legzdins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ivan Newton lost his temper 75 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in The Meldreth United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 75th minute. Penalty! Devon Cousens placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! 81 minutes into the game, Nicholas Beesley cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Duncan Aldridge was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 87th minute Ethan Legzdins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duncan Aldridge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Potato Chasers's Nicholas Beesley got a free kick in the 88th minute. Duncan Aldridge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ethan Legzdins in the 93rd minute of the match. Duncan Aldridge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicholas Beesley in the 97th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. The Meldreth United had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
