The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Ethan Legzdins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gav Law kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicholas Beesley in the 6th minute of play forced mliavn's goalkeeper John-Paul Brough to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicholas Beesley in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck John-Paul Brough prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Potato Chasers getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Devon Cousens hit a great ball. After 14 minutes of play, Potato Chasers's Ethan Legzdins made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. John-Paul Brough was left in no man's land by his defense there! James Preston made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Ricky Welch sent off a good shot on target. Garth Aiston blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without James Preston having to make a save. Ricky Welch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without James Preston having to interfere. When Jonny Claydon fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored mliavn's protests and gave Jonny Claydon a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, mliavn's Jonny Claydon got a free kick in the 35th minute. After some careless play in the mliavn defense, Nicholas Beesley kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of John-Paul Brough. The mliavn fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that John-Paul Brough should have stopped the shot. John-Paul Brough took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lance Moss, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nicholas Beesley made a kick off. When Jonny Claydon was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 52 minutes had been played. Jonny Claydon hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Calum Markham hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Nicholas Beesley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. John-Paul Brough made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicholas Beesley in the 63rd minute of play. Potato Chasers's James Preston played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garth Aiston in the 67th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Nicholas Beesley took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for John-Paul Brough to make any attempt to save it. When Gav Law fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored mliavn's protests and gave Gav Law a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to mliavn getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Gav Law hit a great ball. In the 84th minute of the match Devon Cousens shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but John-Paul Brough showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 86th match minute, mliavn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricky Welch to maneuver through the defense. In the 92nd minute, Ethan Legzdins ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. John-Paul Brough was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. 96 minutes into the match, Nicholas Beesley dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of John-Paul Brough, 1-5. The mliavn fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Potato Chasers were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
