Bakewell
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Bakewell FC's Alastair Davey started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hayden Avery received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Peter Wooding tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aldershot Titans FC's Stefan Oates got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 13th minute Hayden Avery shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Wooding saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Alfie Tubbs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bakewell FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfie Tubbs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Childs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfie Tubbs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. David Childs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Stefan Oates came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Aldershot Titans FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stefan Oates couldn't finish the play. Tim Shackleton kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Stefan Oates recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Peter Wooding didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hayden Avery went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 44th minute, Paul Green hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stefan Oates to make the kick off. The supporters of Aldershot Titans FC booed when Bakewell FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Neil Chilton didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Stefan Oates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bakewell FC's Peter Wooding proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Bakewell FC from getting a goal against them. Peter Wooding made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hayden Avery in the 57th minute. Billy Drake charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Billy Drake the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 59th minute, Billy Drake hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. David Childs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alastair Davey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bakewell FC's Alastair Davey got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alfie Tubbs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Childs read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Kyle Marsden charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kyle Marsden the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kyle Marsden kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Oates in the 76th minute of play forced Bakewell FC's goalkeeper Peter Wooding to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter Wooding made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hayden Avery in the 77th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 79th minute of the game. One of Bakewell FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Aldershot Titans FC:s goal. In the 84th match minute, Bakewell FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Neil Chilton to maneuver through the defense. Bakewell FC's Peter Wooding proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Bakewell FC from getting a goal against them. If Stefan Oates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
