Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Alastair Davey started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Lewis Barnes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maniac City's supporters rose to their feet, but Lewis Barnes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peter Wooding breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 7th minute Alastair Davey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rhys Laycock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10th minute, Aaron Nightingale left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maniac City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Tim Shackleton came free with the goalkeeper in the 15th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rhys Laycock could save by the left post. Rhys Laycock stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfie Tubbs's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Aaron Nightingale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Wooding having to interfere. Lewis Barnes scored 0-2 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Peter Wooding, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rhys Laycock was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alastair Davey showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 32 minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tim Shackleton during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Maniac City booed when Bakewell FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tim Shackleton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aaron Nightingale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Wooding having to interfere. Lewis Barnes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Peter Wooding tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Aaron Nightingale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Bakewell FC's zone, Lewis Barnes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Wooding came out of the goal and Lewis Barnes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Maniac City were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lewis Barnes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 55 minutes, Aaron Nightingale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maniac City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aaron Nightingale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Bakewell FC's zone, Aaron Nightingale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Wooding came out of the goal and Aaron Nightingale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aaron Nightingale scored 1-3 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Peter Wooding, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Aaron Nightingale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Peter Wooding made a huge save. Peter Wooding showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lewis Barnes, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Alastair Davey might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rhys Laycock. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alastair Davey ran back to his position shaking his head. Peter Wooding didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Maniac City's Lewis Barnes shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-4 in the ordered_time% minute. If Lewis Barnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bakewell FC's Aaron Rushforth couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Maniac City. Aaron Nightingale scored 1-5 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Peter Wooding, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lewis Barnes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Wooding having to interfere. When Malcolm May was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 95 minutes had been played. When the match was over Maniac City could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Bakewell FC throughout the match.
