With a couple of smart ball manuevers James Edmunds in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Childs saved Aldershot Titans FC from getting behind. David Childs came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Addlestone AFC's Nial McKeown. But to his dismay, Nial McKeown quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Hayden Avery had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 14 minutes into the game, Nial McKeown was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Addlestone AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aldershot Titans FC the free kick. A collision led to Addlestone AFC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Nial McKeown hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that James Edmunds's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but David Childs was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Kyle Marsden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damien Dobbs having to interfere. In the 30th minute, one of Aldershot Titans FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Aldershot Titans FC. David Childs had in the 32ndth minute some difficulties stopping Eddy Armstrong's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Billy Drake kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. When James Edmunds came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Addlestone AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that James Edmunds couldn't finish the play. Addlestone AFC's Denis Sutherland managed to work through Aldershot Titans FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Denis Sutherland dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 46th minute, James Edmunds left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Addlestone AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stefan Oates to make the kick off. Denis Sutherland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. David Childs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aldershot Titans FC's David Childs proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Aldershot Titans FC from getting a goal against them. Denis Sutherland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 70 minutes in the game, Denis Sutherland fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without David Childs having to interfere. In the 72ndth minute of the game James Edmunds who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aldershot Titans FC's David Childs was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ricky Grantham kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. If James Edmunds had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. James Edmunds might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over David Childs. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. James Edmunds ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 80th minute, Jasper Carragher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. James Edmunds sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Denis Sutherland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. James Edmunds fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Childs having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Addlestone AFC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Aldershot Titans FC.
