Newnham's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ironville United the free kick. Martyn Fleetwood, 10 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Newnham's Tyler Rocastle got his second yellow card of the match in the 28th minute. The referee ordered Tyler Rocastle off the ground. 31 minutes into the game, Ironville United's Gav Plumber nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jason Breeden made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 43 minutes into the game, Gav Plumber cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Jason Breeden was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jason Breeden didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gav Plumber went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Marc Beevers charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marc Beevers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marc Beevers kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Micheal Sawyer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jason Breeden having to interfere. With his leg Jason Breeden managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Ironville United's Gav Plumber fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The crowd rose to their feet as Ironville United's Micheal Sawyer slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jason Breeden. That made the score 0-5 after 77 minutes of play. 81 minutes into the game, Chip Crocker was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Ironville United fans' excitement grew in the 89th match minute when Ironville United's Gav Plumber looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Newnham's Jason Breeden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Micheal Sawyer in the 92nd minute of play. Ironville United's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
