A collision led to Millwall getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Lewis Bayliff hit a great ball. If Micheal Sawyer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gav Plumber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dean Fleetham's late challenge caught a Ironville United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dean Fleetham helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th minute, Dean Fleetham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Micheal Sawyer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vern Sandell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gav Plumber went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Gav Plumber's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vern Sandell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Norman Zamora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Vern Sandell was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Millwall's zone, Micheal Sawyer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vern Sandell came out of the goal and Micheal Sawyer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vern Sandell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gav Plumber, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 93rd minute, Gav Plumber made a precise shot to the right of Vern Sandell. Millwall's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. In the 96th minute, Martyn Fleetwood hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ironville United's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
