Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Newnham's Tyler Rocastle started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Lewis Bayliff hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dean Fleetham during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dean Fleetham hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute, Danny Sheene reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jason Breeden. The goal made the score 1-0. Danny Sheene received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Jason Breeden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Danny Sheene sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Norman Zamora struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Jason Breeden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Millwall. 39 minutes into the game, Norman Zamora cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jason Breeden was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 42 minutes into the match, Newnham's goalkeeper Jason Breeden had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norman Zamora. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newnham's goalkeeper Jason Breeden, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Danny Sheene stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Newnham got a freekick which was hit by Tyler Rocastle. In the 53rd minute, Norman Zamora made a precise shot to the right of Jason Breeden. Newnham's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Norman Zamora fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jason Breeden having to interfere. Norman Zamora received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Jason Breeden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jason Breeden came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Millwall's Norman Zamora. But to his dismay, Norman Zamora quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. When Danny Sheene came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Millwall fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Danny Sheene couldn't finish the play. Jason Breeden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norman Zamora in the 72nd minute of play. The supporters of Millwall booed when Newnham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tyler Rocastle didn't get a good kick on the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Newnham's goal looked a bit too open when Danny Sheene came free, but Jason Breeden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Danny Sheene sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Newnham's zone, Norman Zamora stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jason Breeden came out of the goal and Norman Zamora tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 80 minutes into the match, Danny Sheene had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jason Breeden. Newnham's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Danny Sheene was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. 84 minutes into the match, Newnham's goal looked a bit too open when Norman Zamora came free, but Jason Breeden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Newnham getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Marc Beevers hit a great ball. Newnham's Jason Breeden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norman Zamora in the 87th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danny Sheene in the 94th minute of play forced Newnham's goalkeeper Jason Breeden to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dean Fleetham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Jason Breeden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
