Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Vincent Cornish started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 2 minutes into the match, Shap United's goal looked a bit too open when Devon Hall came free, but Eric Lucas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Denholme City's Niall Darby got control of the ball when Felix Beckwith tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dale Peat struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Eric Lucas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Denholme City. Kristopher McCunnie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niall Darby having to interfere. Scott Ansell hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 13thth minute of the game Dale Peat who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Shap United's Eric Lucas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Dale Peat's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eric Lucas was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. In the 24th minute, Sean Gaskell left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Denholme City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. A hard shot 27 in the game by Vincent Cornish from a close distance when the talented Niall Darby managed to make a qualified save. Denholme City's players were relieved. Niall Darby made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Beckwith in the 29th minute. After having played for 32 minutes, Felix Beckwith managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shap United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Beckwith was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Sean Gaskell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Denholme City's supporters rose to their feet, but Sean Gaskell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eric Lucas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dale Peat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Eric Lucas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vincent Cornish fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niall Darby having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Vincent Cornish's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Niall Darby was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Gaz Brazier's late challenge caught a Shap United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gaz Brazier helped the player get up and apologised. In the 48th minute, one of Denholme City:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Denholme City. Brendon Cobb walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After the first half Denholme City were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sean Gaskell made a kick off. Kristopher McCunnie's late challenge caught a Denholme City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kristopher McCunnie helped the player get up and apologised. Kristopher McCunnie kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 68th match minute, Shap United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kristopher McCunnie to maneuver through the defense. Eric Lucas acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 69th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Gaz Brazier. Eric Lucas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sean Gaskell in the 71st minute of play. Sean Gaskell might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eric Lucas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sean Gaskell ran back to his position shaking his head. Niall Darby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vincent Cornish, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vincent Cornish recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Niall Darby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Beckwith in the 85th minute of the match. After 91 minutes, Dean Bittner mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Denholme City and the Shap United players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of Denholme City:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Shap United:s goal. Niall Darby went to the wrong direction when Brendon Cobb was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Felix Beckwith recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 99th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle went the supporters of Denholme City were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Shap United side.
