Albert Pettifer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Faulkner in the 10th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Mangotsfield's Bob Mabbutt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Quentin Grigg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alexander Faulkner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. North Kilworth's Quentin Grigg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save North Kilworth from getting a goal against them. Quentin Grigg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob Mabbutt, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in North Kilworth's zone, Bob Mabbutt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Quentin Grigg came out of the goal and Bob Mabbutt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Mangotsfield booed when North Kilworth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dean Wootton didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bob Mabbutt made a kick off. Roger Holt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quentin Grigg having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in North Kilworth's zone, Roger Holt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Quentin Grigg came out of the goal and Roger Holt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dylon Marsden might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Albert Pettifer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dylon Marsden ran back to his position shaking his head. When Dean Wootton fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored North Kilworth's protests and gave Dean Wootton a yellow card for diving instead. After 69 played minutes North Kilworth got a freekick which was hit by Dean Wootton. In the 70th minute Roger Holt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quentin Grigg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albert Pettifer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dylon Marsden in the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Tyrone Hislop hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dylon Marsden in the 89th minute of play forced Mangotsfield's goalkeeper Albert Pettifer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 92 minutes, Richard Weston mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the North Kilworth and the Mangotsfield players grew even worse after the yellow card.
