Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) In the 2nd minute, Jay Bassett had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. When Scott Ansell fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Denholme City's protests and gave Scott Ansell a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Panathinaikos F. C booed when Denholme City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Scott Ansell didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Panathinaikos F. C's goal looked a bit too open when Sean Gaskell came free, but Lance Thackray reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joseph Goodman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Lance Thackray made a huge save. Lance Thackray came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Denholme City's Dale Peat. But to his dismay, Dale Peat quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Sean Gaskell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sean Gaskell received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lance Thackray came out and tried to block the shot, but Sean Gaskell slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 40th minute. A collision led to Denholme City getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Joseph Goodman hit a great ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sean Gaskell was the one to do the kick off. Lance Thackray took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sean Gaskell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. George Phippard hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the match, Denholme City's Gaz Brazier broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Dale Peat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lance Thackray came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Denholme City's Dale Peat. But to his dismay, Dale Peat quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Denholme City's Scott Ansell got his second yellow card of the match in the 68th minute. The referee ordered Scott Ansell off the ground. A collision led to Denholme City getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Scott Ansell hit a great ball. Neil Humphreys's late challenge caught a Denholme City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Neil Humphreys helped the player get up and apologised. After 70 played minutes Panathinaikos F. C got a freekick which was hit by Neil Humphreys. Dale Peat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lance Thackray having to interfere. 79 minutes into the game, Brynn Croxford was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Denholme City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panathinaikos F. C the free kick. Denholme City's Dale Peat got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Panathinaikos F. C's zone, Dale Peat stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lance Thackray came out of the goal and Dale Peat tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 87 minutes into the match, Dale Peat notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Panathinaikos F. C's Lance Thackray. Lance Thackray was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Panathinaikos F. C's goalkeeper Lance Thackray, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 92 minutes, Devon Hall managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Denholme City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Devon Hall was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Dale Peat came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Denholme City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dale Peat couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Denholme City had played much better football throughout.
