In the 7th minute, the casle's Grant Salmon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rick Elam. Rick Elam yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Rick Elam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grant Salmon in the 22nd minute of play. A hard shot 24 in the game by Ben Winter from a close distance when the talented Rick Elam managed to make a qualified save. Lond-Catford's players were relieved. Miles Eastwood might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rick Elam. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miles Eastwood ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 34th match minute, the casle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rueben Ramsay to maneuver through the defense. If Grant Salmon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Grant Salmon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute Eddie Farrow suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Piers Burns charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Piers Burns the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 47 played minutes Lond-Catford got a freekick which was hit by Piers Burns.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ged Nelson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A hard shot by Leon Edworthy from long distance, 56 minutes into the match, got Phil Haley's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Phil Langford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phil Haley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ged Nelson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ben Winter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Rick Elam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. the casle's Miles Eastwood got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ben Winter's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rick Elam read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th minute Miles Eastwood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rick Elam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rick Elam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ben Winter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Miles Eastwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Grant Salmon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rick Elam having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miles Eastwood during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, the casle's Miles Eastwood got a free kick in the 78th minute. When Ben Winter came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the the casle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ben Winter couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Grant Salmon during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Grant Salmon hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. If Phil Langford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the the casle players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
