Tosh Shaw fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rick Elam having to interfere. If Phil Langford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 8 minutes, Ged Nelson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lond-Catford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ged Nelson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 9th match minute, North Shields AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darren Elliot to maneuver through the defense. After 11 minutes, Jack Rowling mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lond-Catford and the North Shields AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dominik Hackney scored 0-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rick Elam, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Tosh Shaw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lond-Catford's Ged Nelson got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Garry Haseldine kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ged Nelson in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Louie Crittenden saved North Shields AFC from getting behind. After 41 played minutes Ged Nelson rounded North Shields AFC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Dominik Hackney took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Rick Elam to make any attempt to save it. After 68 played minutes Lond-Catford got a freekick which was hit by Phil Langford. Alfie Banks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Rick Elam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 76 minutes into the game, Francis Blunt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lond-Catford's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave North Shields AFC the free kick. After 76 played minutes Lond-Catford got a freekick which was hit by Francis Blunt. Dominik Hackney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to North Shields AFC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Johnathon Blake hit a great ball. Louie Crittenden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phil Langford in the 82nd minute of the match. Lond-Catford's Ged Nelson got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Phil Langford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Louie Crittenden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute of the match, Dominik Hackney tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rick Elam saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Louie Crittenden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phil Langford, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Lond-Catford's goalkeeper Rick Elam had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tosh Shaw. The North Shields AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
