Seating: 1738, VIP seats: 151) If Alan Bryant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Les Leighton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Ash having to interfere. Alan Bryant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Ian Ash tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Paxton Hotspur's Rupert Downton seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Rupert Downton the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Paxton Hotspur protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rupert Downton had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 11th minute, one of Paxton Hotspur:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Paxton Hotspur. Tommy Potterton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Ed Crossman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Paxton Hotspur fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! In the 21st minute there was a penalty for Swansea City FC. Drew Blackhurst stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ed Crossman. 0-2. Perry Earnshaw kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Drew Blackhurst was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 25th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Swansea City FC's goalkeeper Ian Ash had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alan Bryant. In the 32nd match minute, Paxton Hotspur was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marlon Hislop to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tommy Potterton in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ed Crossman saved Paxton Hotspur from getting behind. Ian Ash made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Richie Carter sent off a good shot on target. Colin Merchant's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ed Crossman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Colin Merchant got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Tommy Potterton came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Swansea City FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tommy Potterton couldn't finish the play.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tommy Potterton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Les Leighton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ed Crossman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Colin Merchant went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Potterton in the 72nd minute of play forced Paxton Hotspur's goalkeeper Ed Crossman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ed Crossman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Potterton in the 75th minute of the match. Paddy Ricketts's late challenge caught a Swansea City FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paddy Ricketts helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Swansea City FC booed when Paxton Hotspur was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paddy Ricketts didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ed Crossman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Colin Merchant in the 90th minute. Tommy Potterton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ed Crossman having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Swansea City FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
