The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Josh Ely fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dom Nailor having to interfere. In the 8th minute Sol Cooke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dom Nailor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 10 minutes Toon Army FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Chris Holmes who took care of the corner kick. Chris Holmes made a great header on Todmorden AFC's corner, it was just that Toon Army FC's Dom Nailor managed to reach the ball for a save. Dom Nailor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Josh Ely, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Deon Boyce managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 23rd match minute, Toon Army FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ryan Beevers to maneuver through the defense. Dom Nailor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josh Ely, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dom Nailor didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sol Cooke went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Josh Ely made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Toon Army FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Chris Holmes was slow to take the kick. During this time Todmorden AFC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Todmorden AFC's corner Chris Holmes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dom Nailor quite easily take care of the ball. Todmorden AFC's Chris Holmes shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 88th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Dom Nailor but with some difficulty. With an all-out effort, Todmorden AFC's Dom Nailor threw himself towards the right post 96 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Josh Ely, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The Todmorden AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
