The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Arsenal football's Orson Blake played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Eanes in the 33rd minute of play. After 37 played minutes Arsenal football got a freekick which was hit by Gary Friebe. Pedro Bancroft made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Liam Flack in the 39th minute of play. In the 41st minute Sam Forrest shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Bancroft saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Liam Flack sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the London Met Academy defense, Liam Flack kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Bancroft. The London Met Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Bancroft should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Liam Flack to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Liam Flack fired away a shot on goal. Liam Flack really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Liam Flack kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Bancroft. That made the score 1-4 in the 62 minute of play. In the 66th minute, London Met Academy's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Tyrone Cook fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a little luck, London Met Academy's Pedro Bancroft got control of the ball when Tyrone Cook tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tyrone Cook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Bancroft having to interfere. Denzil Brook shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 83rd minute, Dean Hellen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Liam Flack sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 90 minutes into the game, Tyrone Cook lined in a short shot 1-6 behind a frustrated Pedro Bancroft. Arsenal football played a much better game than London Met Academy and deserved their victory. The London Met Academy players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
