Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Bob Kitchen took the kick off in the first half of the match. With a little luck, Ince AFC's Tim Granville got control of the ball when Tim Pearce tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ince AFC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Barrie Creighton 5 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Tim Pearce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stanford le Hope's supporters rose to their feet, but Tim Pearce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tim Granville breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ince AFC's goalkeeper Tim Granville, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Ken Seal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 20th minute, Tim Pearce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 22 minutes into the match, Ince AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Barrie Creighton came free, but Tim Granville reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25thth minute of the game Bob Kitchen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stanford le Hope's Chris Rowell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tim Granville was a little too slow when Barrie Creighton got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 31st minute. The score was now 2-0. After having played for 35 minutes, Tim Pearce managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stanford le Hope's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tim Pearce was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jim Sutcliffe during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ince AFC's Jim Sutcliffe got a free kick in the 38th minute. Tim Pearce's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tim Granville firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Tim Pearce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tim Granville made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barrie Creighton in the 45th minute of play. Tim Granville was out of position in the 46 minute of play, and Tim Pearce capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tim Pearce really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Barrie Creighton to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Ince AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Tim Pearce came free, but Tim Granville reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 52nd minute, Tim Pearce made a precise shot to the right of Tim Granville. Ince AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Tristan Brewer kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the match, Stanford le Hope's goalkeeper Chris Rowell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ken Seal. 61 minutes into the match, Ince AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Barrie Creighton came free, but Tim Granville reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathon Kershaw hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Tim Granville took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barrie Creighton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the match, Ince AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Barrie Creighton came free, but Tim Granville reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ince AFC's zone, Tim Pearce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tim Granville came out of the goal and Tim Pearce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ince AFC's Tim Granville played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barrie Creighton in the 75th minute of play. Tim Pearce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tim Granville having to interfere. Tim Granville took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barrie Creighton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute of the match Garth Cummins shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tim Granville showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tim Pearce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tim Granville having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Barrie Creighton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tim Granville was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Tim Granville showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barrie Creighton, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Tim Pearce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Tim Granville tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Tim Pearce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stanford le Hope's supporters rose to their feet, but Tim Pearce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tim Granville breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Stanford le Hope booed when Ince AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charlie Stevens didn't get a good kick on the ball. 98 minutes into the match, Ince AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Tim Pearce came free, but Tim Granville reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Stanford le Hope had played much better football throughout.
