Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Barrie Creighton kicked off to start the match. With his leg Chris Rowell managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Ridgeway Rovers's Caleb Colt fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Caleb Colt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ridgeway Rovers's supporters rose to their feet, but Caleb Colt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chris Rowell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 18 played minutes Stanford le Hope got a freekick which was hit by Damian Ferrell. Damon Hird didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tim Pearce went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Isaac Kingston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Stanford le Hope's goalkeeper Chris Rowell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 29th minute, Tim Pearce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stanford le Hope's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ridgeway Rovers the free kick. A collision led to Ridgeway Rovers getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Leon Smith hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Stanford le Hope's Tristan Brewer got a free kick in the 41st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Isaac Kingston managed to get in a good position for a shot. When Leigh Widdrington fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ridgeway Rovers's protests and gave Leigh Widdrington a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ridgeway Rovers booed when Stanford le Hope was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. After 70 played minutes Ridgeway Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Leigh Widdrington. Chris Rowell came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ridgeway Rovers's Caleb Colt. But to his dismay, Caleb Colt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Tim Pearce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leigh Widdrington was shown his second yellow card after 79 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 80th minute, Leigh Widdrington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 81 minutes into the game Liam Marriot kicked a great long shot which passed Damon Hird straight ahead into the goal, Result 1-3. One couldn't see Liam Marriot behind all of his teammates who surrounded to congratulate him. 84 minutes into the match, Caleb Colt notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Stanford le Hope's Chris Rowell. Chris Rowell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Ridgeway Rovers getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Casey Burnett hit a great ball. Chris Rowell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caleb Colt in the 92nd minute of the match. If Caleb Colt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Stanford le Hope walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
