In the 20th minute, Jonny Gayle made a precise shot to the right of Jo Poole. Pondersbridge AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After having played for 28 minutes, Ray Merchant managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pondersbridge AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ray Merchant was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chesney Courtney kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Byron Kemp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Aaron Hargreaves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hectic Gaming Academy's goalkeeper Aaron Hargreaves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ray Merchant in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aaron Hargreaves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aaron Hargreaves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ray Merchant, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Neil Griffiths stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Pondersbridge AFC's zone, Neil Griffiths stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jo Poole came out of the goal and Neil Griffiths tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pondersbridge AFC's Jo Poole played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neil Griffiths in the 53rd minute of play. A collision led to Pondersbridge AFC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Ivor Nicholson hit a great ball. Ray Merchants short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Aaron Hargreaves to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Harry Hibbert kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. When Harry Hibbert fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pondersbridge AFC's protests and gave Harry Hibbert a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Pondersbridge AFC's Harry Hibbert got a free kick in the 70th minute. Neil Griffiths recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jo Poole made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neil Griffiths in the 75th minute of play. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hectic Gaming Academy's goalkeeper Aaron Hargreaves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ray Merchants short, quick shot in the 84thth minute got Aaron Hargreaves to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Neil Griffiths fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jo Poole having to interfere. With a little luck, Hectic Gaming Academy's Aaron Hargreaves got control of the ball when Ray Merchant tried to sneak it across the goal line. Byron Kemp struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Aaron Hargreaves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pondersbridge AFC. The Hectic Gaming Academy players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
