In the 28th minute, Eric Bellamy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 35 minutes of play, Westbourne United's Eric Bellamy made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Michael Zamora was left in no man's land by his defense there! 38 minutes into the game, Westbourne United's Teddy Hindmarsh nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Michael Zamora made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Teddy Hindmarsh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Zamora having to interfere. Teddy Hindmarsh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Teddy Hindmarsh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 93rd minute, Ashley Turner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute of the match Richmond City got a corner. Westbourne United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Quentin Reading ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Richmond City's Quentin Reading to a score. 2-4 in the 96th minute. Westbourne United's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
