Street FCs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vinnie Boyce was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Street FCs getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. John Downes hit a great ball. Steve Butterfield showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Graham Venables, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Street FCs's goal looked a bit too open when Hugh Woodhead came free, but Steve Butterfield reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, Samuel Barnett fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ivan McGrath, passed just outside the right post. 22 minutes into the game, Graham Venables cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Steve Butterfield was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Steve Butterfield took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugh Woodhead, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sheffield United's goalkeeper Ivan McGrath, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Steve Butterfield showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugh Woodhead, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 39th match minute, Street FCs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Curtis Eldridge to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute, Leo Basterfield left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sheffield United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Steve Butterfield made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hugh Woodhead in the 71st minute. Steve Butterfield took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leo Basterfield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hugh Woodhead's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Steve Butterfield firmly grabbed it by the left post. Steve Butterfield showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Basterfield in the 77th minute of the match. In the 78th minute, John Downes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A very good chance for a goal. 81 minutes into the game, Leo Basterfield recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Steve Butterfield. Leo Basterfield showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. Steve Butterfield showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Graham Venables in the 88th minute of the match. Leo Basterfield succeeded in the game's 90th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-6. In the 93rd minute Leo Basterfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steve Butterfield saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Steve Butterfield made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Basterfield in the 94th minute of play. The Street FCs supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sheffield United's performance. The match ended with a win for Sheffield United.
