Daniel Grainger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ray Merchant in the 2nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miles Haxby in the 7th minute of play forced Pondersbridge AFC's goalkeeper Jo Poole to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Geddington's goal looked a bit too open when Harry Hibbert came free, but Daniel Grainger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Geddington's Daniel Grainger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Geddington from getting a goal against them. 11 minutes into the match, Ray Merchant had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Daniel Grainger. Geddington's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ray Merchant was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Ray Merchant could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Daniel Grainger made a huge save. Harry Hibbert received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Daniel Grainger came out and tried to block the shot, but Harry Hibbert slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 15th minute. Ray Merchant kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 18thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Geddington's keeper Daniel Grainger was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Jo Poole showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miles Haxby, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. If Sly Westlake had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Grainger made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Ivor Nicholson sent off a good shot on target. Ben Thornton kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Daniel Grainger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norman Woolcock in the 27th minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Pondersbridge AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Sly Westlake came free, but Jo Poole reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ray Merchant came free with the goalkeeper in the 36th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Daniel Grainger could save by the left post. Norman Clarke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Sly Westlake sped through Pondersbridge AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jo Poole. Miles Haxby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Jo Poole tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Byron Kemp made a kick off. Daniel Grainger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Byron Kemp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brandon Beecham charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brandon Beecham the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Brandon Beecham hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute, Ray Merchant left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pondersbridge AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Ray Merchant took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Daniel Grainger. Daniel Grainger dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. 75 minutes into the match, Byron Kemp notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Geddington's Daniel Grainger. Daniel Grainger was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sly Westlakes short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Jo Poole to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ray Merchant in the 82nd minute of play forced Geddington's goalkeeper Daniel Grainger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 84 minutes, Sly Westlake managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Geddington's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sly Westlake was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sly Westlake got free with Jo Poole in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ray Merchant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pondersbridge AFC's Jo Poole played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sly Westlake in the 90th minute of play. Chesney Millman lost his temper 92 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 93rd match minute, Pondersbridge AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chesney Millman to maneuver through the defense. When Ray Margarson came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Geddington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ray Margarson couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Pondersbridge AFC had won after a very even match.
