Spectators: 7545 (Terracing: 5660, Seating: 1735, VIP seats: 150) Sheffield United's Leo Basterfield got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Danny Hudson during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 7th minute, one of Langut SSA:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Langut SSA. The referee gave Sheffield United a penalty, 8 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dave Brazier, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Langut SSA's Oscar Froggatt. 0-1. After 14 minutes of play, Sheffield United's Graham Venables made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oscar Froggatt was left in no man's land by his defense there! 18 minutes in the game, Hugh Morrison fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ivan McGrath having to interfere. Hugh Woodhead fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Froggatt having to interfere. Oscar Froggatt came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Sheffield United's Leo Basterfield. But to his dismay, Leo Basterfield quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Julian Chambers took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Ivan McGrath to make any attempt to save it. Julian Chambers struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Ivan McGrath didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Langut SSA. In the 37th minute, Hugh Morrison got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hugh Woodhead blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oscar Froggatt having to make a save. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Hugh Morrison made the kick off in the second half. Langut SSA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 52nd minute, when Leo Basterfield scored to the left of an out of position Oscar Froggatt, making the score, 1-5. Leo Basterfield recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Langut SSA's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Basterfield came free, but Oscar Froggatt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leo Basterfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Langut SSA's Oscar Froggatt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Langut SSA from getting a goal against them. Oscar Froggatt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hugh Woodhead in the 69th minute. Leo Basterfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 81 played minutes Langut SSA got a freekick which was hit by Frazer Stansfield. In the 82nd minute of the match Dave Brazier shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oscar Froggatt showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Sheffield United getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Graham Venables hit a great ball. 89 minutes into the game, Hugh Woodhead recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Oscar Froggatt. Hugh Woodhead showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-7. The Langut SSA fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sheffield United were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
