Cromer's Matthew Halliday proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Cromer from getting a goal against them. 10 minutes into the match, Cromer's goalkeeper Matthew Halliday had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Shawn Stansfield. Shawn Stansfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Matthew Halliday tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th minute Jez Budden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthew Halliday saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Matthew Halliday managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Kimpton's Shawn Stansfield fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Shawn Stansfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cromer's Matthew Halliday played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jez Budden in the 21st minute of play. Shawn Stansfield in the 22ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Matthew Halliday, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 25th minute, Cromer's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jez Budden fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Shawn Stansfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicky Portway got free with Carlton Reeves in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Shawn Stansfield recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Cromer's Paul Gilchrist got a free kick in the 79th minute. A collision led to Cromer getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Paul Gilchrist hit a great ball. Matthew Halliday took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shawn Stansfield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matthew Halliday made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shawn Stansfield in the 91st minute of play. Kimpton's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
