Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jez Budden started the match with the kick off. Edward Brighton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Shawn Stansfield in the 3rd minute. Carlton Reeves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alastair Webb in the 10th minute of the match. A collision led to Kimpton getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Denis Sharples hit a great ball. In the 16th minute of the match Archie Gardner shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlton Reeves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Alastair Webb managed to get in a good position for a shot. Heybridge Basin United's supporters rose to their feet, but Alastair Webb was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlton Reeves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 28th minute Jez Budden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edward Brighton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edward Brighton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jez Budden in the 29th minute. In the 32nd match minute, Kimpton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Josh Saunders to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute of the match Marek Laverick sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edward Brighton skillfully saved the ball. In the 37th minute Jez Budden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edward Brighton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jez Budden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Edward Brighton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shawn Stansfield could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Edward Brighton made a huge save. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alastair Webb to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Heybridge Basin United's goal looked a bit too open when Jez Budden came free, but Edward Brighton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edward Brighton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jez Budden in the 55th minute of the match. Edward Brighton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jez Budden in the 56th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Shawn Stansfield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 59th match minute, Heybridge Basin United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Graeme Rider to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute Jez Budden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edward Brighton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jez Budden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Edward Brighton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edward Brighton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shawn Stansfield, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Jez Budden might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edward Brighton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jez Budden ran back to his position shaking his head. Edward Brighton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Shawn Stansfield's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. When Kimpton's Jez Budden in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Heybridge Basin United's goalie prevented a goal. If Shawn Stansfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute Jez Budden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edward Brighton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shawn Stansfield struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Edward Brighton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kimpton. Jez Budden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Shawn Stansfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlton Reeves didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 82nd minute, which inside left pole to 0-1. Kirk Chapman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 94 played minutes Kimpton got a freekick which was hit by Alistair Fields. After recieving a nice pass, Heybridge Basin United's Archie Gardner tried to score from far away in the 95th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Heybridge Basin United had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
