The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Keiran Gill during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Seb Martin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ronnie Rayner came out and tried to block the shot, but Seb Martin slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 35th minute. The supporters of Ashton-in-Makerfield City booed when Leiston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Cooper didn't get a good kick on the ball.
