Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Denis Fawcett got the match started through his kick off. Darryl Cheesman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bruce Halford during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 13 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Callington! Darryl Cheesman kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Vic Johnston showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicholas Beech, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 25 minutes into the match, Trey Griggs had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vic Johnston. Fletching AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Trey Griggs was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Derek Charles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Fawcett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After recieving a nice pass, Fletching AFC's Nial Rusk tried to score from far away in the 40th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Nicholas Beech managed to get in a good position for a shot. Callington's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicholas Beech was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vic Johnston breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 45 minutes into the game, Gav Pinder was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fletching AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Callington the free kick. In the 45th minute, Gav Pinder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vic Johnston showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trey Griggs, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Trey Griggs made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Trey Griggs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Callington's supporters rose to their feet, but Trey Griggs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vic Johnston breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jo Watts hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Callington's Kirk Hopton couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 60th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Fletching AFC. After a defensive mix-up in Fletching AFC's zone, Nicholas Beech stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vic Johnston came out of the goal and Nicholas Beech tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Nicholas Beech had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fletching AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 67th minute, when Trey Griggs scored to the left of an out of position Vic Johnston, making the score, 0-2. 72 minutes into the match, Callington's goal looked a bit too open when Denis Fawcett came free, but Derek Charles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 73 minutes, Ben Vaughan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fletching AFC and the Callington players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ben Vaughan hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After having played for 75 minutes, Francis Mabbutt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fletching AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francis Mabbutt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Denis Fawcett scored 1-2 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Derek Charles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 81 minutes into the match, Fletching AFC's goalkeeper Vic Johnston had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicholas Beech. In the 84th minute, Kirk Hopton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Callington's Nicholas Beech pulled a muscle in his back after 86 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 88 played minutes Fletching AFC got a freekick which was hit by Gareth Dewhirst. Trey Griggs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vic Johnston having to interfere. Denis Fawcett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derek Charles having to interfere. Trey Griggs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Vic Johnston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Callington had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
