Spectators: 7550 (Terracing: 5664, Seating: 1736, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Henry Plummer kicked off to start the match. Henry Plummer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Nial Larham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mike Heywood charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mike Heywood the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 5th match minute, Weston Super Mare FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mike Heywood to maneuver through the defense. Rob Beavan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Junior Nelson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Stuart Robins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Junior Nelson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rob Beavan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Junior Nelson in the 29th minute of play. Stuart Robins took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rob Beavan. Rob Beavan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After having played for 38 minutes, Stuart Robins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Weston Super Mare FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stuart Robins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rob Beavan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinnie Chilton in the 42nd minute of play. Andy Hopton took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rob Beavan. Crystal Palace's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Basil Elding kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stuart Robins to make the kick off. Rob Beavan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Junior Nelson in the 54th minute. Stuart Robins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Stuart Robins managed to get in a good position for a shot. Weston Super Mare FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Stuart Robins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rob Beavan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Weston Super Mare FC booed when Crystal Palace was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastien Swain didn't get a good kick on the ball. 71 minutes into the match, Crystal Palace's goal looked a bit too open when Stuart Robins came free, but Rob Beavan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sebastien Swain charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sebastien Swain the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 79th minute of the match, Stuart Robins tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rob Beavan saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stuart Robins in the 87th minute of play forced Crystal Palace's goalkeeper Rob Beavan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sammy Lamb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nial Larham having to interfere. Weston Super Mare FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
