Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Frank Heywood got the match started through his kick off. Frank Heywood might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lewis Dobbs. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Heywood ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 21st minute Frank Heywood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lewis Dobbs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 27 minutes, Frank Heywood managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Red Bull's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Heywood was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lewis Dobbs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ged Clayton in the 29th minute of play. Tim Clarke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Shawn Pitts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the game, Pierre Alsop was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Red Bull's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Herne Hill the free kick. The supporters of Herne Hill booed when Red Bull was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierre Alsop didn't get a good kick on the ball. Shawn Pitts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alistair Burns in the 33rd minute of the match. Tim Clarke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alistair Burns was extremely unlucky when he, in the 35th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Red Bull's Shawn Pitts proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Red Bull from getting a goal against them. 45 minutes into the game, Ritchie Butcher was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Herne Hill's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Red Bull the free kick. The supporters of Red Bull booed when Herne Hill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ritchie Butcher didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Red Bull's Josh Millman tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alistair Burns was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Red Bull's goal looked a bit too open when Alistair Burns came free, but Shawn Pitts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lewis Dobbs made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Ged Clayton sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Red Bull's zone, Tim Clarke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shawn Pitts came out of the goal and Tim Clarke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tim Clarke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Shawn Pitts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Red Bull getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Stu Collingwood hit a great ball. Tim Clarke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alistair Burns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tim Clarke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Herne Hill's zone, Ged Clayton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lewis Dobbs came out of the goal and Ged Clayton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 86 minutes, Alistair Burns managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alistair Burns received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Shawn Pitts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Herne Hill had played much better football throughout.
