Ged Clayton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shawn Clayton having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Stone's zone, Frank Heywood stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shawn Clayton came out of the goal and Frank Heywood tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stone's Shawn Clayton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Stone from getting a goal against them. In the 16th minute, Frank Heywood got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Red Bull's Shawn Pitts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronan Blowman in the 25th minute of play. When Shane Ratcliffe came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Stone fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Shane Ratcliffe couldn't finish the play. Red Bull's Shawn Pitts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronan Blowman in the 31st minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Red Bull's goal looked a bit too open when Ronan Blowman came free, but Shawn Pitts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Shawn Pitts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shane Ratcliffe, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After 35 played minutes Red Bull got a freekick which was hit by Peter Parslow. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Heywood in the 47th minute of play forced Stone's goalkeeper Shawn Clayton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frank Heywood succeeded in the game's 49th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Red Bull were furious when Rich Bettinson was red carded, 76 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 75th minute of the game. One of Red Bull:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Stone:s goal. Ged Clayton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ronan Blowman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Ronan Blowman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stone's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronan Blowman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shawn Pitts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Ronan Blowman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, Pierre Alsop hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 100 minutes Red Bull's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nicholas Ploughman who took care of the corner kick. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
