Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sam Bradfield kicked off to start the match. The long shot by John Paul Jones in the 3rd minute really tested Peter Griffin's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. If Colin Nethercoat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nat Harrison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Griffin having to interfere. In the 17th minute of the match Jerome Darby shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Byron Moxey showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Colin Nethercoat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Byron Moxey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 22 played minutes, Cove's Philip Pinder shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Byron Moxey came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cove reached it. Colin Nethercoat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Byron Moxey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Larry Bentley struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Byron Moxey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cove. Cove's Larry Bentley got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sam Bradfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Peter Griffin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Staines City's Peter Warburton got a free kick in the 41st minute. Nat Harrison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Griffin having to interfere. Colin Nethercoat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Byron Moxey having to interfere.

The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of Staines City:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cove:s goal. In the 71st minute, Tyrone McDonald hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Larry Bentley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. But to his dismay, Sam Bradfield quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Cove's Larry Bentley got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Many of Cove's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Cove may have spent more time on the ball, but Staines City were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
