In the 3rd minute, Sam Bradfield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Robin Bator could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Byron Moxey made a huge save. When Nat Harrison, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 7 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The John-Paul Gunn was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. John-Paul Gunn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sam Bradfield in the 8th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, Tottenham Hotspurs's goal looked a bit too open when Nat Harrison came free, but John-Paul Gunn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 12 minutes, Bruce Starr managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tottenham Hotspurs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruce Starr was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Robin Bator fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Byron Moxey having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruce Starr in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Byron Moxey saved Staines City from getting behind. Robin Bator received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Byron Moxey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Tyrone McDonald fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Staines City's protests and gave Tyrone McDonald a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Tottenham Hotspurs booed when Staines City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tyrone McDonald didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Bruce Starr kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Byron Moxey. That made the score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. Robin Bator recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th minute, Peter Warburton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Byron Moxey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruce Starr, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Sam Bradfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pete Bridgewater charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pete Bridgewater the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 44 played minutes Tottenham Hotspurs got a freekick which was hit by Pete Bridgewater.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruce Starr to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Robin Bator shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Byron Moxey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bruce Starr scored 2-0 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Byron Moxey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 60 played minutes Staines City got a freekick which was hit by Tyrone McDonald. In the 62nd minute Robin Bator shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Byron Moxey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 63 played minutes Staines City got a freekick which was hit by Tyrone McDonald. In the 66th minute, Tyrone McDonald reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of John-Paul Gunn. The goal made the score 2-1. John Paul Jones took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 77th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for John-Paul Gunn. Tottenham Hotspurs's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Robin Bator received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Byron Moxey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Robin Bator scored 3-1 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Byron Moxey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Robin Bator fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Byron Moxey having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Staines City players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Tottenham Hotspurs.
