Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Graeme Reeve made the kick off which started today's match. Colin Nethercoats short, quick shot in the 5thth minute got Lance Beaumont to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thanks to some nice moves Colin Nethercoat could shoot a difficult shot in the 8th minute, which Lance Beaumont however easily saved by the left post. With an all-out effort, Cove's Lance Beaumont threw himself towards the right post 10 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Larry Bentley, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some careless play in the Liverpool FC. defense, Larry Bentley kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lance Beaumont. The Liverpool FC. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lance Beaumont should have stopped the shot. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cove's goalkeeper Peter Griffin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 18th minute Graeme Reeve shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Griffin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 18 played minutes Cove got a freekick which was hit by Larry Trunks. After a defensive mix-up in Cove's zone, Louie Byrne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Griffin came out of the goal and Louie Byrne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Cove getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Robin Palmer hit a great ball. 23 minutes into the game, Liverpool FC.'s Graeme Reeve nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Peter Griffin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Larry Bentley kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lance Beaumont. That made the score 2-1 in the 32 minute of play. Peter Griffin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Louie Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Colin Nethercoat scored 3-2 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lance Beaumont, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Colin Nethercoat could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Lance Beaumont made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Cove's zone, Louie Byrne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Griffin came out of the goal and Louie Byrne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Larry Bentley stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 57 minutes, Graeme Reeve mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Liverpool FC. and the Cove players grew even worse after the yellow card. Larry Bentley struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Lance Beaumont didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cove. 61 minutes into the match, Liverpool FC.'s goal looked a bit too open when Larry Bentley came free, but Lance Beaumont reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 63 minutes of play, Cove's Larry Bentley made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lance Beaumont was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 78th minute, Calvin Clemence hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute of the match Jerome Darby shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lance Beaumont showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Colin Nethercoat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shane Manson in the 87th minute of play forced Cove's goalkeeper Peter Griffin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Colin Nethercoat scored 5-2 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lance Beaumont, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ash Barratt hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Peter Griffin made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Louie Byrne sent off a good shot on target.
