Dave Adamss short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Rex Forrest to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Henry Ellerby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Tristram Jefferson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carl Hooker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dave Adams fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rex Forrest having to interfere. Carl Hooker blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rex Forrest having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Carl Hooker's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rex Forrest was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Tristram Jefferson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Meechan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rex Forrest showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carl Hooker in the 33rd minute of the match. Carl Hooker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dunmow's Rex Forrest played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carl Hooker in the 45th minute of play. Tristram Jefferson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Denham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Henry Ellerby during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of manchester united booed when Dunmow was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Ellerby didn't get a good kick on the ball. 57 minutes in the game, Henry Ellerby fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Tristram Jefferson having to interfere. Dunmow's supporters rose to their feet, but Fred Meechan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tristram Jefferson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 86 minutes, Ted Kitching mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dunmow and the manchester united players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Dunmow getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Ted Kitching hit a great ball. Kevin Coulshaw, 87 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, manchester united's Quentin Layfield got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Henry Ellerby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tristram Jefferson having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the manchester united players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
