Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Verne Attwood started the match with the kick off. Nigel Swain charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nigel Swain the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, New Romney's Nigel Swain got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 9th minute, New Romney's Leigh Garner seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Leigh Garner the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of New Romney protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Leigh Garner had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 7 minutes into the game, one of New Romney:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. New Romney's Pat Mitchell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jay Swinscoe in the 16th minute of play. Verne Attwood in the 18thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alfie Macken, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 20 minutes into the match, New Romney's goal looked a bit too open when Chesney Houlahan came free, but Pat Mitchell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute Kevin Alsford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pat Mitchell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. New Romney's Pat Mitchell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toby Firth in the 22nd minute of play. Pete Postolan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Alfie Macken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the game, CJ Trusswell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Spurs27's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave New Romney the free kick. After a rather tough play, Spurs27's CJ Trusswell got a free kick in the 30th minute. Alfie Macken made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Verne Attwood sent off a good shot on target. Verne Attwood in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alfie Macken, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Alistair Hellen came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the New Romney fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alistair Hellen couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Alsford in the 42nd minute of play forced New Romney's goalkeeper Pat Mitchell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pat Mitchell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Alsford in the 45th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jay Swinscoe made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Spurs27's zone, Verne Attwood stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfie Macken came out of the goal and Verne Attwood tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Verne Attwood might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alfie Macken. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Verne Attwood ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Toby Firth kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pat Mitchell. That made the score 0-3 in the 72 minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 75th minute by Chesney Houlahan got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 77th minute Pete Postolan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfie Macken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute Jay Swinscoe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pat Mitchell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kevin Alsford could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Pat Mitchell made a huge save. After a rather tough play, New Romney's Beinn Smikle got a free kick in the 89th minute. Alistair Hellen struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Alfie Macken didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New Romney. The New Romney supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Spurs27's performance. The match ended with a win for Spurs27.
