Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Sammy Bailey started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Lance Robertson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alnwick Town's supporters rose to their feet, but Lance Robertson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pierre Delaney breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Graham Ripley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marc Picker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Graham Ripley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sammy Bailey in the 9th minute of play. Sammy Bailey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sammy Bailey struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Graham Ripley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for South Woodford United. Graham Ripley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sammy Bailey, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Alnwick Town's goal looked a bit too open when Sammy Bailey came free, but Graham Ripley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marc Picker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Graham Ripley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute of the match Stew Locking shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Graham Ripley showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Christian Cornforth hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Sammy Bailey managed to get in a good position for a shot. South Woodford United's supporters rose to their feet, but Sammy Bailey was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Graham Ripley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 45 minutes into the game, South Woodford United's Mickey Hunter nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Graham Ripley made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christian Cornforth to strike the kick off in the second half. Mickey Hunter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Graham Ripley made a huge save. In the 58th minute of the match South Woodford United got a corner. Alnwick Town's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Stew Locking ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on South Woodford United's corner Stew Locking fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Graham Ripley quite easily take care of the ball. After 65 minutes South Woodford United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Stephen Dunne who took care of the corner kick. Alnwick Town's Stephen Dunne was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Pierre Delaney in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Mickey Hunter received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Graham Ripley came out and tried to block the shot, but Mickey Hunter slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 75th minute. After 80 played minutes South Woodford United got a freekick which was hit by Marc Picker. In the 85th minute, Sammy Bailey fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Graham Ripley, passed just outside the right post. Sammy Bailey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 94 minutes, Marc Picker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. South Woodford United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marc Picker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. South Woodford United played a much better game than Alnwick Town and deserved their victory. The Alnwick Town players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
