Will Worrall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Steve Speed tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Leigh Dyson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bristol St George City's supporters rose to their feet, but Leigh Dyson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karl Locking breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Will Worrall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Bristol St George City's Ged Thomson got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 38th minute, Leon Atkins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Bristol St George City's zone, Will Worrall stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steve Speed came out of the goal and Will Worrall tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 47 minutes into the match, Brackley's goal looked a bit too open when Leigh Dyson came free, but Karl Locking reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leigh Dyson to make the kick off. A sloppy throw-in by Cliff Aiston in the 52nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Bristol St George City's Leigh Dyson. 55 minutes into the game, Adam Biernat was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bristol St George City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brackley the free kick. After 55 played minutes Bristol St George City got a freekick which was hit by Adam Biernat. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Brackley lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
