Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Christian Cornforth got the match started through his kick off. Alnwick Town's Graham Ripley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Will Watkins in the 5th minute of play. With a little luck, Alnwick Town's Graham Ripley got control of the ball when Austen Bryant tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Austen Bryant came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Danbury fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Austen Bryant couldn't finish the play. After having played for 13 minutes, Will Watkins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Danbury's supporters crossed their fingers, but Will Watkins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Danbury's Will Watkins sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Graham Ripley narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Graham Ripley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Will Watkins's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Austen Bryant struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Graham Ripley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Danbury. Will Watkins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Graham Ripley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Danbury's Brett Amos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Graham Ripley. Graham Ripley yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 25th match minute, Alnwick Town was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bart Bateson to maneuver through the defense. Graham Ripley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Will Watkins in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 33rd minute Will Watkins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Graham Ripley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Will Watkins was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 38th minute. Danbury's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Will Watkins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Will Watkins in the 47th minute of play forced Alnwick Town's goalkeeper Graham Ripley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Will Watkins to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Alnwick Town's goalkeeper Graham Ripley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Austen Bryant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Graham Ripley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 57 minutes, Austen Bryant managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Danbury's supporters crossed their fingers, but Austen Bryant was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 59 minutes into the match, Alnwick Town's goal looked a bit too open when Will Watkins came free, but Graham Ripley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Will Watkins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Graham Ripley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacob Duxbury's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Graham Ripley came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Danbury's Austen Bryant. But to his dismay, Austen Bryant quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. In the 78th minute, Will Watkins left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Danbury fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Will Watkins in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Graham Ripley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Danbury had played much better football throughout.
