Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ruben Fry took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Den Burley came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Houghton Regis City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Den Burley couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Mellon came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Houghton Regis City's Den Burley. But to his dismay, Den Burley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Den Burley in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Mellon saved Ashwell City from getting behind. Julian Beverley kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Jonathan Mellon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niall Radcliffe in the 24th minute of the match. Ruben Fry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chris Mansell having to interfere. Ashwell City's Jonathan Mellon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Den Burley in the 29th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Ashwell City's goal looked a bit too open when CJ Dove came free, but Jonathan Mellon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ted Goodman fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ashwell City's protests and gave Ted Goodman a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ashwell City getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Ted Goodman hit a great ball. After 34 minutes of play, Houghton Regis City's Den Burley made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Mellon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Den Burley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Mellon having to interfere. Jonathan Mellon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Den Burley went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. In the 41st minute, Johnny Devaney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Mellon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Den Burley went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. In the 47th minute Liam Ridsdale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Mellon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Ashwell City players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Houghton Regis City were winning 0-5.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Den Burley stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ashwell City's Jonathan Mellon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Den Burley in the 51st minute of play. Ashwell City's Jonathan Mellon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Ashwell City from getting a goal against them. After 60 played minutes Ashwell City got a freekick which was hit by Johnny Devaney. Ashwell City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Liam Ridsdale was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. 85 minutes into the match, Ashwell City's goal looked a bit too open when Den Burley came free, but Jonathan Mellon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 87 played minutes Niall Radcliffe rounded Ashwell City's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-8. Jonathan Mellon was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Den Burley showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-9 in the 91 minute of play. After 95 played minutes Ashwell City got a freekick which was hit by Ruben Fry. Houghton Regis City's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
