With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lewis Kendall in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pat Willoughby saved INVASION from getting behind. Pat Willoughby didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lewis Kendall went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 13th match minute, INVASION was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Warren Longthorn to maneuver through the defense. Vincent Clement charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vincent Clement the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vincent Clement kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Gez Adams might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicholas Woodward. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gez Adams ran back to his position shaking his head. Nicholas Woodward made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sean Hackney in the 19th minute of play. Lewis Kendall's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pat Willoughby read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gez Adams in the 22nd minute of play forced Wirral FC's goalkeeper Nicholas Woodward to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Wirral FC's Nicholas Woodward got control of the ball when Gez Adams tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Sean Hackney managed to get in a good position for a shot. INVASION's supporters rose to their feet, but Sean Hackney was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicholas Woodward breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gez Adams fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicholas Woodward having to interfere. After 30 played minutes INVASION got a freekick which was hit by Gavin Alsford. Nicholas Woodward was out of position in the 33 minute of play, and Sean Hackney capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sean Hackney really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. After some careless play in the INVASION defense, Ricky Walsh kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pat Willoughby. The INVASION fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pat Willoughby should have stopped the shot. Gez Adams fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicholas Woodward having to interfere. After the first half Wirral FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ashley Sparks made a kick off. A hard shot 56 in the game by Lewis Kendall from a close distance when the talented Pat Willoughby managed to make a qualified save. INVASION's players were relieved. After some careless play in the Wirral FC defense, Sean Hackney kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nicholas Woodward. The Wirral FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicholas Woodward should have stopped the shot. He walked away shaking his head. Nicholas Woodward showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gez Adams in the 74th minute of the match. After having played for 75 minutes, Sean Hackney managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. INVASION's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sean Hackney was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Wirral FC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Brandon Wicks hit a great ball. Phil Fitzgerald kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Lewis Kendall could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Pat Willoughby made a huge save. In the 84th match minute, Wirral FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricky Walsh to maneuver through the defense. Lewis Kendall struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Pat Willoughby didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wirral FC. In the 89th minute, Garth Sheldon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ashley Sparks fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wirral FC's protests and gave Ashley Sparks a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Wirral FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Ashley Sparks hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lewis Kendall in the 93rd minute of play forced INVASION's goalkeeper Pat Willoughby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gez Adams received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Nicholas Woodward tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
