Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Upwell's Louie Rowling started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Upwell's Fitz Searle got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Louie Rowling sped through Ironville City's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Robert Gough. Louie Rowling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Louie Rowling managed to get in a good position for a shot. Upwell's supporters rose to their feet, but Louie Rowling was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robert Gough breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 24 minutes into the match, Upwell's Paul Apsden sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Robert Gough narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Louie Rowling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the game, Louie Rowling cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Robert Gough was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 31st minute Louie Rowling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Gough saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert Gough took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Louie Rowling, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fitz Searle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robert Gough showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Louie Rowling, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Darius Logan might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dean Sutton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Darius Logan ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Loyd Lowe in the 54th minute of play forced Upwell's goalkeeper Dean Sutton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Ironville City's goal looked a bit too open when Louie Rowling came free, but Robert Gough reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 66 minutes into the game, Fitz Searle recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Robert Gough. Fitz Searle showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. Dean Sutton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darius Logan in the 78th minute of play. After having played for 82 minutes, Louie Rowling managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Upwell's supporters crossed their fingers, but Louie Rowling was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 84th play minute Fitz Searle came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Robert Gough. 0-7. Louie Rowling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Robert Gough tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Upwell's zone, Loyd Lowe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dean Sutton came out of the goal and Loyd Lowe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
