Spectators: 6733 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1733, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ed Ambrose kicked off to start the match. Tristan Oliver made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ed Ambrose in the 5th minute of play. Matt Howarth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tristan Oliver made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matt Howarth in the 11th minute of play. Calum Hall made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tosh Warner in the 13th minute. Matt Howarth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Tristan Oliver tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matt Howarth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24thth minute of the game Ed Ambrose who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Tulips's Tristan Oliver was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ed Ambrose in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tristan Oliver prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tristan Oliver showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ed Ambrose in the 31st minute of the match. The supporters of FC Tulips booed when Monkeys Village FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronnie Chalmers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dave Cousens might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Calum Hall. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dave Cousens ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to FC Tulips getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Austin Cox hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute Monkeys Village FC were awarded a corner. Lance Chambers went to the cornerflag to take it. Tristan Oliver made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ed Ambrose in the 45th minute of play. When Verne Swain fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Tulips's protests and gave Verne Swain a yellow card for diving instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dave Cousens made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Cousens in the 54th minute of play forced Monkeys Village FC's goalkeeper Calum Hall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, FC Tulips's Tristan Oliver got control of the ball when Matt Howarth tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 60 played minutes Monkeys Village FC got a freekick which was hit by Mick Hinshelwood. When Ed Ambrose came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Monkeys Village FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ed Ambrose couldn't finish the play. If Matt Howarth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matt Howarth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Monkeys Village FC's Calum Hall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Cousens in the 69th minute of play. A collision led to Monkeys Village FC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Mick Hinshelwood hit a great ball. If Ed Ambrose had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, Max Barker notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of FC Tulips's Tristan Oliver. Tristan Oliver was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dave Cousens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Calum Hall having to interfere. Ed Ambrose recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Matt Howarths short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Tristan Oliver to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, FC Tulips's Verne Swain got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 88 minutes into the match, Mick Hinshelwood had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tristan Oliver. FC Tulips's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mick Hinshelwood was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Monkeys Village FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
