Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Lenny Deighton took the kick off in the first half of the match. Frank Slade's late challenge caught a Lingdale Road FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frank Slade helped the player get up and apologised. After 4 played minutes Knottingley got a freekick which was hit by Frank Slade. 5 minutes into the match, Lingdale Road FC's Jonathan Earnshaw broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Jerome Perryman succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 7th playminute. With his leg Ryan Morrison managed to avoid a goal in the 11thth minute, when Knottingley's Chaz Beswetherick fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Knottingley's Lenny Deighton in the 17th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Ryan Morrison was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Lingdale Road FC through an amazing save. After a defensive mix-up in Knottingley's zone, Joshua Sheppard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roger Cousens came out of the goal and Joshua Sheppard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, Knottingley's Ryan Morrison threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lenny Deighton, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Roger Cousens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joshua Sheppard in the 25th minute of play. After 27 played minutes Knottingley got a freekick which was hit by Chaz Beswetherick. Frank Slade was shown his second yellow card after 28 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 30th minute Vern Sands shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger Cousens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vern Sands sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vern Sands fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Cousens having to interfere. Vern Sands received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Roger Cousens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joshua Sheppard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Chaz Beswetherick, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 52 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Ryan Morrison was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joshua Sheppard in the 56th minute of play forced Knottingley's goalkeeper Roger Cousens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vern Sands took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roger Cousens. Roger Cousens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When Joshua Sheppard came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Lingdale Road FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joshua Sheppard couldn't finish the play. Vern Sands scored 1-2 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roger Cousens, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Joshua Sheppard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vern Sands got free with Roger Cousens in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 79th match minute, Lingdale Road FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Calvin Cusack to maneuver through the defense. Chaz Beswetherick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ryan Morrison having to interfere. Knottingley's Chaz Beswetherick got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 84 played minutes Knottingley got a freekick which was hit by Jerome Perryman. Vern Sandss short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Roger Cousens to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Vern Sands sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
