Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Jake Strong started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tosh Osbourn in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kirk Burkinshaw prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 9th minute Jake Strong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Louis Jordoan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the game, one of Turtle Bay:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Kirk Medlin hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Kirk Burkinshaw showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tosh Osbourn, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tosh Osbourn in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kirk Burkinshaw saved Turtle Bay from getting behind. Ivan Bray hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Lance Hayes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kirk Burkinshaw took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tosh Osbourn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kirk Burkinshaw showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tosh Osbourn in the 30th minute of the match. Louis Jordoan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Seth Lawless in the 32nd minute of play. The supporters of Turtle Bay booed when Thurlaston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teddy Coleman didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jake Strong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 42 minutes, Lance Hayes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thurlaston's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lance Hayes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lance Hayes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tosh Osbourn made the kick off in the second half. Lance Hayes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kirk Burkinshaw having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Turtle Bay's zone, Lance Hayes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kirk Burkinshaw came out of the goal and Lance Hayes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 86 minutes, Tosh Osbourn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thurlaston's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tosh Osbourn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Louis Jordoan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Seth Lawless in the 93rd minute. In the 95th minute, Teddy Coleman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
