Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Rob Jefferies made the kick off which started today's match. In the 8th match minute, Letchworth United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danny Knight to maneuver through the defense. Alfie Rowetts short, quick shot in the 9thth minute got Jez Howard to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 12 played minutes Letchworth United got a freekick which was hit by Danny Knight. After having played for 13 minutes, Walter Waterhouse managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Runcorn City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walter Waterhouse was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Letchworth United's goalkeeper Jez Howard had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfie Rowett. After 16 minutes, Danny Knight mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Letchworth United and the Runcorn City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 16th minute, Danny Knight hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jez Howard had in the 21stth minute some difficulties stopping Garth Knightley's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 24th minute of the match, Walter Waterhouse tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jez Howard saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Runcorn City's Walter Waterhouse got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jez Howard made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Alfie Rowett sent off a good shot on target. Alfie Rowett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jez Howard having to interfere. In the 38thth minute of the game Adrian Brearley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Runcorn City's Simeon Barrett was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Russell Hazledine hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Adrian Brearley blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Simeon Barrett having to make a save. Walter Waterhouse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Jez Howard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Walter Waterhouse made a kick off. Jez Howard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfie Rowett in the 54th minute of the match. Walter Waterhouse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jez Howard didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfie Rowett went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Simeon Barrett stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rob Jefferies's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Rob Jefferies sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, Letchworth United's goal looked a bit too open when Alfie Rowett came free, but Jez Howard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Danny Knight kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 69th minute, Walter Waterhouse made a precise shot to the right of Jez Howard. Letchworth United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. If Walter Waterhouse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jez Howard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfie Rowett in the 76th minute of play. Kasey Clayton hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. In the 88th minute, Walter Waterhouse got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 96 minutes into the game, Alfie Rowett cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Jez Howard was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. There was no doubt that Runcorn City were the better team. Runcorn City's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
