Leigh Theakston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Glyn Louis in the 3rd minute of play. In the 5th minute of the match, Byron Bland tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kieran Rusby saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Kris Teague sped through Shepherds Bush Boys's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Leigh Theakston. In the 16th match minute, Callington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnny Clarkson to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Glyn Louis in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leigh Theakston prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Kris Teague had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shepherds Bush Boys's Leigh Theakston played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glyn Louis in the 36th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Glyn Louis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leigh Theakston was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Kris Teague struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Leigh Theakston didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Callington. After a rather tough play, Shepherds Bush Boys's Jason Warden got a free kick in the 40th minute. 42 minutes into the game, Ross Downton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Shepherds Bush Boys's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Callington the free kick. The supporters of Callington booed when Shepherds Bush Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ross Downton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kris Teague fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leigh Theakston having to interfere. Glyn Louis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Glyn Louis made a kick off. After 62 played minutes, Shepherds Bush Boys's Jason Warden shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kieran Rusby came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Shepherds Bush Boys reached it. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Shepherds Bush Boys's goalkeeper Leigh Theakston, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Lance Tomkin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shepherds Bush Boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Lance Tomkin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kieran Rusby breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 83rd minute, Ross Downton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Callington's Kris Teague got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Glyn Louis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Shepherds Bush Boys's Leigh Theakston played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glyn Louis in the 87th minute of play. Callington's Kris Teague got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leigh Theakston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glyn Louis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Byron Bland recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
